The spectacular Fuengirola Zoo is designed to replicate the natural habitat of each and everyone of the animal species living there. Large areas have been created in which water and vegetation take front stage - Rivers, gigantic trees, impressive waterfalls, bamboo-shrouded temples, hanging bridges and abandoned mines taken over by birds and bats. These are just some of the magical places that will surprise you as you make your way through the grounds of the Fuengirola Zoo. Visit the sandy beach where Nile crocodiles bask in the sun; watch the playful chimpanzees and the flashy mandrills; catch a glimpse of the Sumatra tigers as they bathe beside Angkor Temple; come face to face with the taciturn leopards always on the watch. Otters, hippos, turtles, kangaroos, birds,....over 250 animals and 62 different species that will make your visit one you won't easily forget. Open every day from 10-00am.
Created by the designers who have sympathetically recreated natural habitats to allow the visitor to view the animals in as natural a state as possible. The centre peice of the park is a lemur enclosure where adults and children are taken on an enchanting trip through the world of these unique animals. Don't be put off by your traditional view of zoos - you won't find any bars here. Well worth a visit. |
