MALAGA AIRPORT
Malaga Airport, which opened its new terminal in November 1991, holds sixth place in the number of passengers it handles among the forty airports of the Aena network.
The airport, which provides a gateway to seventeen domestic as well as ninety international destinations, currently welcomes five million passengers annually and it is prepared to welcome eleven million. In order to speed up passengers flow, the Pablo Ruiz Picasso terminal has introduced a new check-in procedure by which the pre-boarding lounges have been eliminated and the passenger now goes directly from check-in to security and passport control and to the departure lounge with its shopping and restaurant facilities.

The airfield has a single runway, joined to a parallel taxiway by seven points: Four high speed exits, one normal exit and two entrances.

Duty-free allowances for travellers entering Spain from outside the EU include 2L of still table wine; 1L of spirits or 2L of fortified wine, sparkling wine or other liquers; 60ml of perfume; 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco. Duty-free allowances for travel between EU countries were abolished in 1999. For duty-paid items taken from one EU country into another, allowances include 90L of wine, 10L of spirits, 110L of beer and 800 cigarettes.

Directions on leaving Malaga airport Leaving Málaga Airport by car to drive to Málaga City or Fuengirola and Marbella Malaga Airport is located about 6km West of the Malaga city, just off the main Coast Road N340. When leaving the airport by car, and after the first roundabout, approaching the N340, the left hand lane which takes you across the flyover goes to the Malaga, Granada, Motril, Nerja and the Eastern Costa del Sol, whereas the right hand lane is for Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Sotogrande, Gibraltar, Cadiz, and all other points on the western Costa del Sol.

Trains to and from Malaga Airport Train Service Train Service from Málaga Airport to Málaga City and Fuengirola The train station is outside the international terminal. Take the lift in the arrivals hall up to the Departures hall. Walk outside onto the upper level parking area, and turn right. Follow the signs over the footbridge to the train station. To Málaga City First train 07.15 then at 45 and 15 minutes pas the hour. Last train 23.45 journey time 12 minutes. To Fuengirola First train 06.13 then at 43 and 13 minutes pas the hour. Last train 22.43 journey time 29 minutes.
