The Cordoba province is essentially a rural one. The city of Cordoba is in the valley of Rio Guadalquivir, which runs throught the middle of the province. Cordoba has a very interesting and romantic history, it plays hosts to the former mosque, Mezquita, which is one of the most spectacular Islamic buildings in the world. The rest of the Cordoba province has a lot of beautifully appealing country areas which really do produce a rare beauty.
