La Opinion de Málaga newspaper considers that 700 jobs are under threat in the luxury hotels in Málaga province. The paper says that five star establishments are losing clients to cheaper hotels and that there has been a noticeable fall in demand from golf tourism.

Both the Byblos and the Incosol are letting some people go as are both the Guadalpín hotels in Marbella and Puerto Banús.

Meanwhile the Junta de Andalucía has reduced their forecast for growth in tourism in the region this year from 3% to 1% as number fall.
