What is believed to be the first exhibition for seniors ever to be held on the Costa de Sol is coming to the Conference Centre, Estepona on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th November.
Called ‘The Over 50s Show’, it is described by the organisers, Dublin-based S&L Promotions Ltd., as a lifestyle event for older people, and replicates a similar, successful exhibition they have mounted every year in the Irish capital for almost a decade.
Interest
The free-entry event, for which SUR in English is the print media partner, will open on both days from 12 noon until 7 p.m. and will feature displays, demonstrations and presentations and cover numerous areas of interest to seniors.
Main subjects to be covered include health, hobbies, travel within and outside Spain, personal finance, inheritance tax, equity release, investments, consumer rights, insurance, property, legal queries, food and wine, sports and exercise, creative writing and more. As the organisers point out: “There will not be many, if any, subjects of interest to older people which will not be covered”.
S&L has chosen Spain, and in particular the Malaga region, as the first venue outside Ireland because of its large population of seniors.
A team of PGA pros from the David Leadbetter Academy at La Cala will give free golf lessons. So for those who want to get their swing in the groove, the show provides the ideal opportunity.
Valuations
In association with Bonhams Auctioneers, the show features a team of antique specialists who will be on hand to offer visitors free ‘Antiques Roadshow-style’ valuations of small items and jewellery, as well as offering observations from photographs of larger items.
Internet
With more and more seniors taking up computer and the Internet, computer tuition will be offered by the AngoInfo Website who will host tuition on all aspects of computing, e-mailing and the Internet.
