Spain Info - Equipment Review - Are long Irons becoming a thing of the past? |

With the new technology today making drivers easier to use, the hardest clubs to hit for most golfers are the long irons. Even if you think you can hit them well, you probably will not get the distance through the air consistently. If so, then you need to try 'Hy-Brids' or 'Rescue' clubs. These are basically half iron/half wood, with the same shaft length and loft as a long iron. Their unique design makes it easier to get the ball in the air and are more forgiving than a long iron resulting in higher, further shots, consistently! They are easier to use from the rough or fairway bunkers and also are great for approach shots or long par 3's. Many modern sets now only go up to five or six iron and the long irons being replaced with hy-brids as standard. Even Phil Mickleson has replaced his 3 iron with one for most of the year! For more information or to try hy-brids contact PGA Pro Nick Moncur on 0034 626239433 or email info@moncurgolfacademy.com web www.moncurgolfacademy.com |
